How to calculate wagering: formula, examples and the common mistake
Wagering is not a “bonus multiplier” but the volume of bets you must place. Here is the formula and three examples in hryvnias.
Wagering (also “playthrough”) is the requirement to place bets worth a given amount before the bonus and its winnings become withdrawable. It is the one figure in the terms that turns “150% on your deposit” into the real price of a bonus.
The basic formula
Required turnover = base × wagering. The base is either the bonus alone or “deposit + bonus”. That is the first thing to find in the rules.
| Deposit | Bonus | Wagering | Base | Turnover |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 500 UAH | 500 UAH (100%) | x40 | bonus only | 20,000 UAH |
| 500 UAH | 500 UAH (100%) | x40 | deposit + bonus | 40,000 UAH |
| 1,000 UAH | 1,500 UAH (150%) | x10 | bonus only | 15,000 UAH |
Rows 1 and 2 differ by a factor of two although the multiplier is the same. “x40” without a base tells you nothing.
Game contribution
The turnover in the table assumes games that count 100%. If a game counts 10%, a 100 UAH bet clears only 10 UAH of wagering. That is typical for live tables. More in the article on game contribution.
How many spins is that
Divide the turnover by the stake. For 20,000 UAH at 10 UAH that is 2,000 spins. If a slot spin takes about 4 seconds, that is over two hours of pure play. Now compare it with the bonus timer.
What to do with this
- Find the wagering base.
- Multiply and compute the turnover.
- Apply your game’s contribution.
- Divide by the stake and by the number of days.
- If the daily quota looks unrealistic, the bonus is not for you.
The wager calculator on the home page does all of this for you.
